Just because someone does not believe something is not “justification” or proof that there are no existing facts. It merely means that the necessary facts will be given, not “gave up”, and confirmed at the appointed time.

What anyone may think or may not think is irrelevant conjecture and at most, mere subjective opinion and will remain just that. But when the proof, the facts and evidence are revealed nothing will be questionable or left to the opinion.

Anyone would become angry if they were fired given the tough times everyone is experiencing in this economy! Maybe the reason the ones who opted to stay and are still there is simple. People need jobs! They have bills to pay and families who depend upon them.

Anyone with common sense would have to say that the staff must really, really care about the students to continue putting up with all that abuse and unfair treatment, really!

Some staff that had been employed at Iroquois prior to ETR may remember the mysterious circumstances surrounding their taking over operations at the center. We were told that Satellite Services, the previous contractor, had lost their option year for 2004.
Most staff were preparing for the reported takeover by ETR on January 1 of that year. Around December 29th or 30th of 2003, we were told about an investigation by the General Accounting Office which would ultimately delay ETRs takeover for a year. What were the circumstances of this investigation? Of course we were never told.
Even with a year to prepare for their takeover, it was a rough transition. Their organizational chart was flawed and I was erroneously listed as a salaried employee. My job description was completely wrong. The corporate office did not even come to the center to give any kind of training or direction.
Needless to say, things just went downhill from there during ETRs reign. This is reflected by the huge turnover of staff during the last five years. Ironically, ETR has a chance to be the longest running contractor at the center.

It seems to me that anyone with a conscience who has worked or is working at a JC Center has gotten their psyche (or integrity) bruised at some point. This site should be about healing, supporting and helping each other. It is going to take all of us working together to make a difference.

I see iroquois Center has found out about this site, and is seeking information. These people drove many of us nuts before and are still reeking havoc don’t fall for them. This no name person is the 2nd I’ve suspected as part of the problem. We must be making them nervous. Good for us.

I have to laugh at the screamer.. First of all we have lots of proof, documents, photos and more. We have sworn statements. Unlike what the CD wanted us to do..lie to a federal investigator, these people tell the truth. I know for a fact one person was being set up to be fired for answering questions from the fed. investigator…guess what idiot..its a federal offense. They are not only wasting the tax payers money, mistreating students, but doing things that they could be thrown in jail for. So scream all you want. The truth is out there..you are just to blind or to stupid to see it.

My son is due to leave for job corp soon. I thought I was helping him by setting him up with this program, but after reading these post and others; I am beginning to doubt my decision. If anyone has any information please respond to my email of coleendrewyork@yahoo.com

Coleen, try to get your son in to a real educational/vocational program – don’t let him go to Job Corps if you can possibly send him elsewhere. The entries on this blog are just the tip of the iceberg – even Congress knows what the real deal is – a money train for contractors.

Why are you SHOUTING? It appears OIG has plenty of evidence on a LOT of job corps centers. It seems the hard part is getting someone’s attention that cares enough to do something about it. Why would anyone be pissed off to leave a hellhole like job corps? It upsets me that the program is not what it was intended to be, that my tax dollars are paying for it, and the students are not getting the education they came there for.

You can think what you want about evidence, you will see how much evidence we have in due time. The key is knowing when to use it. Sure a lot of us were upset when we lost our jobs. If you were not part of the corrupt clique, chances are they would find a way to let you go. Unfortunately there were many well educated and qualified people let go to make way for ass kissers and ignorant morons. I could list them for you but it would take too much time and I would get in trouble for using names. Most of these people haven’t got the intelligence to make out their time cards or turn them in on time. This was the case every pay period when I worked there.
In my case, I was not even properly notified that I was terminated. This was determined by the unemployment law judge, but unfortunately it was too late. This was after a period of three months with no income. They even tried lying in the hearing, but it did not work.
As for the people who are still working there, they probably consider themselves lucky to have a job. Many of them can’t afford to quit with the economy the way it is. I would say about 90% of the staff geniuinely cares about the students.
Unfortunately, the upper management does not or they would not be pushing students through the program the way that they are.
